Woohoo! Another pattern release from Made for Mermaids just launched yesterday and it’s a good one. This cutie is called “Mama Nina” and she’s a raglan high-low swing style dress that will make you swoon. For real.
Team Mermaid did their usual tricks and added as many options as they could to Nina. Different sleeve lengths, hem lengths, an optional pocket…and even some fabulous hacks on their blog to help take the pattern a little further.
I kept my version pretty simple. And actually, it was early on in testing when I made this cutie…so the hem on the dress length has been adjusted a bit. My height is mostly in my legs, so dresses automatically look shorter on me, but also the hem in front was brought down a couple of inches from where it is in these photos. In case you were wondering why mine looks shorter. Which you probably were.
I LOVE me a raglan sleeve. Pattern mixing is my jam…I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned that a few dozen times already. And being able to mix stripes and polka dots together in a cute swingy dress gives me ALL the heart eyes. All of them.
I feel bad because I don’t have a ton of things to say about this dress, I feel like it speaks for itself. There isn’t much to explain! It’s that good!
This would be a FABULOUS beginner’s piece, and is very close in style to the popular brand that’s out there right now….which would save some $$$ if you loved the fit of it, but didn’t love the price and wanted to try making your own.
While we sit back and rejoice in the fact that I”m not as wordy as I normally am, here are some links for you:
